Welcome to the Stikine Valley Gospel Music Festival website.
In 1997 two Tahltan Christian men each had a vision of a big tent, many people, the sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and people singing country gospel music. Later in the year, these two men, Andy Quock and Willie Williams, were visiting at the Stikine Canyon Ranch, owned by Willie and his wife Grace. As they were sharing what God had been doing in thier lives, one mentioned the vision he had and immediately the other announced he also had that same vision! As they shared, they realized that the location for the vision was the Ranch grounds and they knew that God was directing them to take steps of faith and begin to prepare for a festival the following year.
The first festival was held in the beginning of June 1998 and it was clear that God's hand was in this ministry. Many people came, most of First Nations descent, and were blessed by the camp style meeting. Since then, this festival has grown and the facilities have been expanded from temporary structures to permanent building. But the focus has always remained the same: to praise God and to help people find the peace of God as he extends salvation and healing to all.
